Default w/elem or w/monk?

I am thinking about making a warrior/elementalist or a warrior/monk. I like the warrior/elementalist becuase it has good damage, as well as some other pluses. The only downsides i see are lack of healing abilitys and the costly spells. I like the monk becuase of the healing abilitys. It seems though that the spells are also pretty costly. Would the lack of healing abilitys "gimp" me?
Any feedback would be appriciated.

the good points of a W/E is that if you go with earth magic, you can get some very powerful defensive wards and armor boosting buffs, to make you a great defensive tank. The W/Mo is has 2 main possibilities: healing or smiting. If you go with smiting, you can do some real nice damage as an offensive warrior with skills like judge's insight. Healing can also help, but if you have a monk on the team, its not as useful. In any case, any one is fine, any combination can work great.

Wow, I'm having the exact same dilemma!

I figured I'd go War/Monk till acension, then drop the Monk sub to Ele. I'm really attracted to what War/Ele can do in terms of damage, but only worry I'm going to be a pretty gimp tank . . . If anyone with insight into this issue can clarify how well War/Ele can tank compared to War/Monk, I'd be grateful. =]

Btw! The trick to playing War/Ele effectively is to avoid those high energy skills in the ele' skill pool! At a meager 20 energy, us warriors don't really pump out nukes efficiently . . . stick to the simpler spells, there are plenty! 5 energy mini-nukes with knockdown procs/armor penetration are plentiful, and those abilities that add elemental weapon dmg per strike (Conjure Flames/Lightning/Water I believe) Can really put us notches above other classes in terms of pure dps.

PS: Pardon the noobishness, I don't have the game yet, and only go by what I read. 6 more days till my copy reaches home!
